  1. 5 Tips to Donate Toys & Clear Your Home Toys development but if you buy too many of them, you will find yourself having to deal with messy rooms and a cluttered home before long! To help you avoid that, here are 5 tips to slim down, donate toys to charity, and simply declutter your home, with your kids help! are necessary for a child’s

  2. 1.Why Donate Explain the situation and talk to your kids about why donating their toys is a great thing! Then, let them help you out in picking the ones they wish to donate. This teaches many life skills including: how to live a tidy life (vs. being a hoarder), and how to bless others with joy (rather than being focusing on your own wants). 2.Go Through the Toys Chances are that your kids acquired some low-quality toys they found in Happy Meals or at Chuck E. Cheese’s, and possibly other expensive toys. Go through them and ask the kids which ones they enjoyed playing with the longest, created the most joy, and which helped them learn the most. This will help them make better decisions about what they should buy in the future (or ask you to buy). They may find some simple inexpensive toys that have provided a lot of joy and some expensive toys that weren’t used that long, and many really cheap quality toys that just didn’t last. 3.Separate Into Bins Have bins for trash, donate, not sure, and keep. Have the kids go through the toys once and see if they accomplished what you had in mind. Make sure you check to see that “grandpa’s handmade wood puzzle” doesn’t end up in the wrong bin, if you are still emotionally attached to it. Help them with the undecided items and other things you think they don’t need. Ask them things like, “When is the last time you played with that?” or “Do you think you will play with that this week?”or “If that was missing from your room for a month, would you even notice or care?”

  3. 4.Take Action Take the trash out right away, and donate items the same day too. Things like Legos (even incomplete sets, or mixed bulk pieces) can be donated to Brick Recycler and other usable toys can be donated to many organizations or thrifts if they are in good condition. 5.Celebrate Celebrate the new clean room, and if you found items worthy of donating, think about the joy that the toys will bring others.
