  3. AIIMS-Patna The foundation stone Of AIIMS Patna was laid in 2004 by the 11th president of India Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. The institute though conceptualized in 2004 came into proper existence lately in 2018. However, the ordinance dated 16th July 2012 and then the Act (Amendment), 2012 on 2nd July 2013 facilitated the creation and accurate recognition of the Institute. The escalating cost of setup and change of hands caused a delay in its setup. Presently All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna has the capacity of enrolling 100 MBBS students. The Institute also presently handles as many as 1500 outpatients on dailybasis. Additionally, AIIMS Patna also provides B.Sc. Nursing degrees to as many as 60 students. In addition to all these the institute performs 250 surgeries on average per month in its five operation theatres. In addition to required faculties like hostels and living amenities the institute also provides activities focused on student wellbeing such as gymnasium and play areas. Not only does the Institute prove MBBS (UG) and Nursing (B.Sc.) the medical college also provides Post-Doctoral and Post-graduationdegrees. Despite admitting both male and female students in all of its courses the B.Sc. program is only limited to femalestudents.

HISTORY • Formerly known as Jai Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Sciences the Institute received its formal status ofAIIMS in 2004 by the 11th President ofIndia • Almost close to a decade after its establishment the Institute started operating in the year2012 • Furthermore, in 2018 the institute realized its optimum potential thus starting work as a full-blownAIIMS • From its early days, the institute has been under the Guidance of AIIMS Delhi for itsacademics. • AIIMS-P in its first year of operation took only 50 students in its landmark MBBS program however soon increased it to 100 in the next year 2013. • Since then AIIMS-P has developed and increased its facilitiesand academic prowess considerably well. It added more than 200 beds, eight departments a trauma center, and Inpatient departments in its initial years ofoperation.

AIIMS is the most premiere Medical education institute in the country which makes AIIMS-P amonghighly demanded medical colleges. Hostel Single rooms are available for students pursuing MBBS. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. There are numerous hostel buildings throughout the campus, the girl's hostel is in an inner boundary for safety. Labs: In addition to departmental laboratories the institute also has a cytogenetic and molecular genetic laboratory which acts as a prime lab for the patients from surrounding and afar areas. Eligible students can even opt-in for scholarships available from Vidyalakshmi and NSP scholarship schemes. In addition, these students can even get loans under Government-run Vidyalakshmi.
