3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Kushabhau Thakre University (KTU) is a non-profit public higher education institution. Moreover, another name for the college is Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication or KTUJM in short. As a matter of fact, the university is set in the urban town of the large city of Raipur. Further, it is a national learning centre for media studies. Established in 2005, Kushabhau Thakre PatrakaritaAvam Jan Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya is a coeducational institute of mass communication and journalism. As a matter of fact, the main goal of Kushabhau Thakre University, Raipur is to cultivate zeal of natural creativity and social sensitivity amongst their students. 5. HISTORY The history of Kushabhau Thakre University, Raipur related to the development of mass media and journalism. In fact, the Department of Higher Education of the Government of Chhattisgarh established the KTU. As the name suggests, the college was named after the great social thinker and the saintly leader, Kushabhau Thakre. However, the union minister – Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the new campus in 2010. As a matter of fact, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid the foundation stone of Kushabhau Thakre University on 16th April 2005.

6. RANKING Kushabhau Thakre University maintains a good reputation for its mass communication courses. Keeping in view the significance of the college, the Defence Minister – Rajnath Singh delivered the 2nd convocation letter on 16th May 2013. Similarly, Venkaiah Naidu (Vice – President), and Om Thanvi (Hindi writer & senior journalist delivered the lecture on the 3rd and the 4th convocation, respectively. Likewise, many famous and respectful personalities visited the college campus, including, Padma Shri Awardee - Rajat Sharma, Minister of Higher Education – Umesh Patel, and Mayor of Raipur – Pramod Dubey. 7. COURSES OFFERED Bachelor’s Course: Kushabhau Thakre University, Raipur designs their undergraduate courses in such a way that their students become skilled media persons. And, they produce evolutionary content in the field of media and communication. Moreover, the most popular course is Bachelors of Art – Journalism and Mass Communication. Master’s Courses: As a matter of fact, the majority of students enrol in the course of MJ (Master of Journalism). But, Kushabhau Thakre University offers Masters courses in 12 disciplines. PhD./M.Phil Courses: In addition to the above courses, Kushabhau Thakre University so offers research courses. Moreover, the college offers two PhD courses. In addition to this, the name of faculty buildings is kept after two of the great litterateurs and journalists of Chhattisgarh. To clarify, the names are 'MadhavraoSapre Faculty Building' and 'PadumlalPunnalalBakshi Faculty Building.

9. Conference Hall - Samvyet The college has a 200-air-conditioned conference hall for events and a conference room. Moreover, it is equipped with an acoustics audio-video broadcasting facility, named ‘Samvyet’. Multimedia Centre Kushabhau Thakre University has a well-developed multimedia centre. As a matter of fact, the college has a special community radio station named Radio Samwad 90.8 FM. Besides that, the other facilities available at this centre include radio transmission towers, radio PCR (Live Telephone System Arrangement), radio jockey, and a 5 mic setup (automation software). Television Studio The mass communication Institute has a well-established television studio with many facilities. Some of them are camera studio setup, Samwad makes tele promoter, television studio set, PCR with live Streaming Facility, and an edit room. Documentation and Publication Centre The other names of this centre are social-folk media centre and library-reference centre.
