  2. Do you know that? • Heroin is a semi synthetic opiate made from morphine • It is derived from opium which came from the dried milk of opium poppy. • Heroin is also known as “Diacetylmorphine”

  3. Getting to Know the History • Back in the old days 1898, the synthetic drug was an over-the-counter medicine, recommended by doctors to be used as a cough suppressant.

  4. Misconceptions • Unfortunately, the confusion regarding the use of opium was put to an end. In 1912, restriction of the legal distribution of opium was banned by the International Opium Convention
