  2. Define your ideal customer profile Knowing who your ideal client is can help you reach them, become more productive, and improve your chances of success. Make an ideal customer profile (ICP) and provide it to your sales representatives once you've decided who you'll sell to. Not sure what the phrase means? An imaginary depiction of a person or business that stands to gain the most from your offerings is called an ICP.

  3. Provide specialized product training Given the complexity of most medical devices, this will likely be an enormous task. However, if you want your representatives to regularly close deals, it needs to be done. Once your medical device sales representatives are well-versed in the products you offer, teach them about the conditions that the gadgets are intended to treat. Teaching them about rival products and the medical industry in general wouldn't hurt either.

  4. Focus on the patient benefits When making their sales pitches, your representatives should have this in mind. Your representatives should always start a conversation with doctors about patient advantages. In what ways will the products your business sells lessen pain? How will they shorten the time needed to recover? The answers to these questions are crucial.
