Complete overview of conducting scuba diving in Andaman Scuba diving is a recreational watersport that requires a prior mandatory training session to learn basic diving skills and to get comfortable and confident for actual diving. Check the following step-by-step overview of how we conduct scuba diving for beginners or non-swimmers in Andaman. 1. Medical form fillup At the time of booking scuba diving with us, we brief you on the whole process of and the prerequisites needed thereto. On your actual dive date, we take you to our dive shop provided you are staying within our pick-up range (From Havelock Jetty to Govind Nagar Beach no 5). Then you will have to fill up a medical questionnaire declaring that you are physically and mentally fit for dive and don’t possess any medical issues vulnerable to scuba diving. If you still have concerns regarding your medical health, consult your physician. We strongly recommend not diving if you have doubts about your medical health. 1/3

  2. Scuba diving is strictly prohibited with the following health issues Asthma, sugar, ear & eye problems, breathing problems, blood pressure, diabetes. I have undergone surgery past 12 months or ongoing problems with the past surgery. I have had stroke, heart disease, lung problems, blackouts, and fainting. Pregnancy, hernia, ulcers, back problems, significant head injury, seizures, etc. 2. Put on wet Suits (Dive suit) The next process is to wear a wet suit as per your size and dimensions. We do provide small, medium, and large wet suits with decent colors. You can change your dress in the changing rooms available in our dive shop. After that, you can try eyes and nose-covering scuba diving mask. We also provide perception masks ranging from -2 to -6 for people with weak eyesight. 3. Practical training session When everything is set up, we take you to the Govind Nagar beach no-3 to conduct your practical training. We do provide scuba diving classes in chest-deep water. During the training session, you will learn basic scuba diving skills to make you confident and comfortable enough for actual diving. A dive instructor will assist you in putting on scuba gear to get used to it and to teach and practice multiple skills in shallow waters. Scuba dive training is a crucial part of the whole process that builds confidence for a smooth and safe diving experience. During training, you get to learn the following How to apply a scuba regulator in your mouth and breathe through How to release underwater ear pressure How to clear water from eyes and nose covering mask underwater What are underwater hand signals and how or when to use them How to release water from the mouth and reapply the scuba regulator in case it is accidentally removed during diving. 4. Actual Diving After training, it’s time to get into the water to have a wonderful scuba diving experience. We transport you to your pre-decided dive site via our speed boat with our dive crew on board. We provide personal dive instructors for each guest to ensure maximum safety during the dive. We make you a backroll entry from the boat into the water while one divemaster already floats on the sea surface to assist you. Your personal dive instructor does a quick recap of all the skills learned at the time of training. Then he slowly descends with you into the water while holding the nozzle of your air cylinder. One of our dive instructors records your photos and videos as a memory of your lifetime. The ranges from 3500 to 6500 per person depending on your dive duration, dive location, dive quality, photography, and videography.
