Points add up each round, and the first player to reach the preset target (usually 500 points) wins the game. GAME SETUP 2-10 Players 7+ Years Each player draws a card. The player with the highest number becomes the dealer (cards with symbols count as zero). The dealer shuffles and gives 7 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards facedown as the DRAW pile. Turn the top card of the DRAW pile faceup to start the DISCARD pile. Note: If the top card is an Action Card, follow its instructions from SPECIAL ACTION CARDS. UNOGAMERULES.ORG

  3. SPECIAL ACTION CARDS Skip Card Skips the next player's turn. Can only be played on a matching color or another Skip card. If turned up at the start, the next player ((the player to the left of the dealer) is skipped, and the one after them begins. Reverse Card Reverses the direction of play. Can only be played on a matching color or another Reverse card. If turned up at the start, the dealer goes first, and play moves in the opposite direction. Draw Two Card The next player draws 2 cards and loses their turn. Can only be played on a matching color or another Draw Two card. If turned up at the start, the same rule applies. Skip Card Wild Card When you play this card, you can change the color to any color (including the current color) to continue play. You can play this card even if you have other playable cards. If turned up at the start, the player to the left of the dealer selects the color to begin play. Wild Draw Four Card This card forces the next player to draw 4 cards from the DRAW pile and skip their turn, while allowing you to choose the color to continue play. You can only play this card if you don’t have a card matching the color of the DISCARD pile. If turned up at the start, return this card to the deck and pick another card. Note: If you think a player played a Wild Draw 4 card illegally, you can challenge them. The challenged player must show their hand. If they are guilty, they must draw 4 cards. If they are not guilty, the challenger must draw 6 cards. Only the player who was supposed to draw the 4 cards can challenge. UNOGAMERULES.ORG

  4. LET’S PLAY ! The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. Match the top card on the DISCARD pile by number, color, or symbol (symbols represent Action Cards). For instance, if the DISCARD pile shows a Blue 4, you can play any Blue card or any 4 of a different color. Alternatively, you can play a Wild card or Wild Draw Four card. If you don’t have a matching card, draw one from the DRAW pile. If the drawn card can be played, play it immediately. If not, your turn ends, and play moves to the next player. You may choose not to play a card from your hand, even if playable. In this case, draw one card from the DRAW pile. If it’s playable, you may play it immediately. You cannot play any other card from your hand after drawing. Before playing your second-to-last card, you must say “UNO.” If another player catches you before your next turn, draw 4 cards from the DRAW pile as a penalty. If not caught before the next player begins their turn, no penalty applies. If not caught before the next player begins their turn, no penalty applies. Before playing your second-to-last card, you must say “UNO.” If another player catches you before your next turn, draw 4 cards from the DRAW pile as a penalty. The game round ends when a player plays their last card. Points are tallied (See SCORING AND WINNING section). A new round starts. GOING OUT When you play your second-to-last card, shout "UNO!" to show you have one card left. If you forget and another player catches you before the next player’s turn, you must draw 2 cards. If you catch yourself first, you don’t need to draw cards. You can’t catch a player for not yelling "UNO!" after the next player starts their turn. If the last card is a Draw Two or Wild Draw Four, the next player must draw the cards (2 or 4). These drawn cards are included when calculating points. If the DRAW pile runs out and no one is out of cards, reshuffle the DISCARD pile and keep playing. UNOGAMERULES.ORG

  5. SCORING AND WINNING The first player to get rid of all their cards earns points based on the cards left in other players’ hands. Here's how each card is valued: Number Cards (0-9): Face Value Skip Cards: 20 Points Reverse Cards: 20 Points Draw Two Cards: 20 Points Wild Cards: 50 Points Wild Draw Four Cards: 50 Points The game ends when a player reaches 500 points (or another set target) and is declared the winner. Alternatively, you can keep track of each player's points after every round. The player with the fewest points when someone reaches 500 wins. Two-Player Rules (1 VS 1) Before playing your second-to-last card, you must say “UNO.” If another player catches you before your next turn, draw 4 cards from the DRAW pile as a penalty. If not caught before the next player begins their turn, no penalty applies. Playing a Reverse card acts like a Skip card, allowing you to immediately play another card. The following special rules apply when playing UNO with two players: Playing a Skip card also lets you play again immediately. After playing a Draw 2 cardor a Wild Draw 4 card, your opponent must draw the specified number of cards, and then it's your turn again.
