  2. Amphibians Class • All amphibians are cold-blooded. • Amphibians live in each continent except for Antarctica. • An average amphibian grows smaller then other vertebrates.

  3. Salamander Adaptation • The Cave Salamander has a special organ that helps it locate different chemicals in the water. • Some salamanders make a fluid which is poisonous to other animals. • Salamanders have a long tails which they use for swimming.

  4. Salamander Details • The average length of a salamander is usually one inch to five feet. • The ones that are five feet are the Giant Salamanders. • Many salamanders have dark moist skin and blend in their habitat. • Salamanders been known to live 30 salamander years in the wild and 50 salamander years tamed.

  5. Salamander Feeding and Diet • The salamander eats slugs, spiders, and insects. • They also eat baby mice and small frogs. • It also eats baby snakes.

  6. Salamander Habitat • Salamanders live in water and hide underneath the gushy river. • They creep from side to side to rocks and squirm under wood. • Some move towards the surface on showery nights.

  7. Salamander Continent • Salamanders live in all continents except Antarctica and Australia.
