Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are a unique group of cancers that originate from neuroendocrine cells u2014 specialized cells with features of both nerve cells and hormone-producing cells. These tumours can develop in various parts of the body, most commonly in the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and lungs. Although often slow-growing, some NETs can be aggressive and require timely medical evaluation and treatment.
