  2. Rhinoplasty combines great precision and technique with an aesthetic touch. It is an extremely challenging cosmetic surgery for most surgeons. • Getting the nose to compliment the other facial features is a daunting task indeed and one that takes years of practice to perfect.

  3. Getting the nose to have a natural symmetry with the face is the objective and the nose must pass the “I know he/she had a nose job” test. • When the patient takes a look into the mirror he or she must see a nose that seems natural and not one that looks deformed or awkwardly irregular.

Before the scheduling of the surgery the head surgeon will carry out a thorough examination and diagnosis is made. • The rhinoplasty surgery will require a proper and well thought out plan to enhance the success of the surgery. The patient is briefed on the procedure and shown what is likely to be done and the possible results.

  6. The nose has a complex structure comprising of a solid frame but with fragile elastic tissue. Rinomegalia is a rhinoplasty surgery for a large nose and involves the lifting of the skin through an incision made in the nasal mucosa to remove cartilage and bone, then reshape the cartilage at the tip of the nose.

  7. The challenge is in ensuring that the tip of the nose is in harmony with the back of the nose. It is interesting to note that before the rhinoplasty procedure the patient will be subjected to laboratory tests to determine his or her suitability for the operation.

  11. Patients are to observe post-operative care after been discharged. It is important that they avoid exposure to pollen or anything that will irritate their nasal area and cause them to react in a way that could be detrimental to the surgery like violent sneezing.
