  1. ABSTRACT ART Abstract art uses dots, lines, shapes, forms, colours to attain a configuration, concept or culmination of feelings. Abstract art came into picture at the crossover to the twentieth century. It is an art style that breaks away from drawing art as it is embodied in real life figures and known skeletal movement. “Abstract is a dance of colours, dots into lines and linear moves into stunning moods, subjective and personal,” states A. Viswam, a veteran artist and master abstract painter long associated with Easel Stories Art Gallery. A.Viswam, The Candy Shop, 2022, 36*72 Inches, Oil on Canvas One could even undertake the idea of abstract as a journey into an unacquainted, yet trustworthy territory. Abstract art becomes more about the process than the destined point as days flow in the art world. It involves the arrangements of Surrealism (a blurred expression of the conscious mind, created in art post the second world war and the hazy depictions of its ramifications,) Dadaism (art used to raise voices against, and repudiate the idea of political and social conventions of absurd fashion,) Cubism (a grand art movement to create geometric depictions of figures in strange locks, changing shapes and couth ideologies,) and Fauvism (a style of painting with vivid expressionistic and non-naturalistic use of colour that flourished in Paris from 1905, though short lived.) Other abstract art forms conclude into Suprematism (the supremacy of pure artistic feeling and choice,) and De Stijl (style of unique arts and architecture in art as a form of the Dutch Art Movement.) Some examples of the collection of famous artists favouring the abstract are Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, M.F. Hussain, Tyeb Mehta, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo.

  2. The roots of abstract painting, though, can be found with post-Impressionism. The art movement developed in France. In the early days, a picture of a person up close was constructed of planes and angles, lines and curves, brush strokes and a blur of ideas for each admirer to take back with them. This ideal involved layered art, hidden meanings and distorted ways of self-expression, that of a society, its culture, and voice. A.Viswam, Lilac Dreams, 2022, 36*60 Inches, Oil on Canvas In lexes of representation and movements, value and reiteration, calligraphy, literature and tales, abstract arts have taken nuanced silhouettes in Islam, South Asia, Manuscripts, Renaissance, Romanticism and cultural movements. As a form of modern art, and in contemporary times, abstract art is more in demand, valued and luxurious in nature. Art as expression, feeling and beauteous style is also significant in the investment class. The days of digitalisation and asset creation support as well as encourage the growth of abstracts in art. It is the most expensive art form to purchase and display. Its value adds to the aesthetics of places, asset creation, subjective stance, inter border communication, modern art capabilities, and speculation as part of the future of the art universe. Abstract Art pieces include the famous works: ‘View of Notre Dame, 1914,’ ‘The Yellow Curtain, 1915,’ ‘Window at Collioure,’ ‘Les Demoiselles D’ Avignon, 1917,’ ‘Dancers under the Full Moon,’ ‘Battle of Ganga and Jamuna’ and many more artworks.
