  1. 7 Tips For Your First Solo Trip As A New Driver The feeling of finally getting your driving license after intensive training and practice is both ecstatic and exhilarating. The first thing that we all want to do after getting our license is to go on a solo trip. Driving at all times requires total concentration and focus, but you need to be extra prepared and attentive on your first solo trip. While training you had an instructor to guide you, but while driving alone you have to pay attention to your surrounding because one wrong turn or little carelessness can cost you your life. Whether you learned driving from a friend, family member, or a trainer at a driving school in Carlton, you need to be extra careful when driving solo. Remember that your first trip

  2. after learning to drive need not be solo. You can always have the company of your family members or a friend who is more adept at driving. Below are some of the tips you can follow if you are planning to go on your first solo trip. 1. Familiarize yourself with your car It is a prerequisite that you familiarise yourself with your car before getting behind the wheel. Take some time to know the position of the brakes, accelerator, and clutch (if driving manual). You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you don’t know where the brakes are. Adjust the seat accordingly so that you have a clear view of your front line. Don’t forget to adjust your mirrors as well. 2. Plan your route beforehand For your first solo drive, I would suggest that you choose a route that you are well aware of. Don’t go for highways that are risky or busy areas that are too crowdy. Instead, choose a route that is less crowdy and easy to navigate through. You can take the help of a navigation app if you are not so confident about your sense of direction. 3. For once, turn off your phone! Mobile phones can be a great source of distraction while driving. Don’t forget that it is illegal to use a mobile phone when driving. You should keep it well out of your reach. You can keep them on silent mode or switch them off. This way there will be no possibility of you getting distracted by them in case someone calls or pings you.

  3. 4. Have a health check-up of your car We often tend to forget to keep our automobiles in excellent shape. Remember that your body needs regular fuel in the form of nutrients and food and water, the same way your car needs regular servicing to make sure that everything is in shape. Before heading out check the oil and other fluids, inspect the tires for proper inflation, and ensure that all the lights are working. Don’t forget to check the gas as well, unless you want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere because you ran out of gas. 5. Stay calm It is easy to get anxious when driving solo for the first time. Without an instructor beside you, you can become nervous and confused. But remember that you can always pull over and take time to collect yourself. You are not proving yourself to someone. Remember the instructions you received while enrolled in a driving school in Docklands and drive with patience. 6. Be prepared for emergencies Even with extra preparation and caution emergencies can arise. You have to be prepared for it. Make sure you are carrying your phone, emergency supplies like an extra tire, and a first aid kit. If you do experience a breakdown, then try to pull over at a safe place and call for help. 7. Don’t forget to enjoy it Around all the anxiety going on solo tip brings, don’t forget to enjoy it while it lasts. You can still make it memorable by going to your favorite place or surprising a friend. You can listen to your favorite songs but not too loud. Music is the last thing you want to be distracted by.

  4. Our first solo trip can certainly be intimidating, but with the right preparation, you can make it memorable and successful. With more and more practice you will certainly become a skilled driver and one day when you look back to the day you drove or the first time you will wonder what the fuss was all about. You can enroll yourself in a driving school in Doncaster if you wish to learn to drive from an experienced trainer. Until then good luck and happy driving!
