Intend to become Director of a firm and apply DIN DIN Number: Director Identification Number or DIN is the unique number allotted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to an individual who plans to be a director of the company in India. The DIN number of a director is a distinct 8-digit number that enables the person to legally proceed as a director of a company. DIN number is permitted to an individual only once. The person acting as a director of multiple companies need not be required to obtain multiple DIN
numbers to act as a Director in those companies. Requirements for acquiring the DIN Number In the case of new firms, the first three directors can apply for a DIN Number through the SPICE Plus Form. In the case of already existing companies, the Directors can apply for a DIN number through the DIR-3 Form. In the case of already existing companies, the applicant director has to attach the signature of the existing company, where he intends to be added. Validity of DIN Number: Once a DIN number is allotted to a Director, It has lifetime validity and does not require any renewal or re-activation. MCA disqualifies or deactivates the Director if the Director violates the guidelines or any laws rules and regulations.
