Facts about Haryana Public Service Commission - Haryana Public Service Commission is one of the most prestigious public sectors of India that administers and evaluates top most national exams for recruiting officers and other staffs at variety of public sectors. At the province level, the first commission was Madras Service Commission. It was established in the year of 1930 under the 1929 Act of MadrasLegislature. • The comparatively newer state of Haryana came into existence in 1966, under the Act of Punjab RE-organization. On the same year, this Haryana Public Service Commissionwas established. This Haryana Public Service Commission releases the exam notifications of State Civil Services. There are several posts like, executive officers and others, where almost one lakh candidates apply every single year. The top rankers get high post jobs that are prestigious and have state level paygrade. • Relevant information regarding the Haryana Public ServiceCommission: • These top level job recruitment examination is popular and thousands of examinees from Haryana state sit for this every year and get through. Here are some important facts about the whole examination, which every candidate needs to know even before they start preparing forit: • The entire examination has two phases of execution. The phases are, the Preliminary phase and the Mains phase. The first phase has two papers, and the second phase has one written paper and pone viva voice test. Once the candidate has passed the first one, then she could appear on the second one. • There is sufficient age relaxation for reserved category candidates. General candidates can sit for the exams for three times. For ex-servicemen, there are three more attemptsallowed. • After the written tests of the mentioned two phases, there is a viva test. Only those candidates who have secured at least forty five per cent marks in aggregate (on average in all subjects) will be eligible for the vivatest. • The viva test is called the personality test. So, it will be a test, where the mental qualities of the candidate will be measured. The mode of the test will be conversational. Through a quality and relevant conversation the personality of the candidate will be measured and evaluated. • Both the papers in Haryana Public Service Commission exams are objective in essence. For Prelim Exam there are two papers namely, the General Studies and the CSAT. Both papers have 100 questions carrying one mark each, to be answered in twohours. • The mains exam has five papers, namely, English, Hindi, General Studies, two optional subjects (selected from a given list of subjects). For every paper, the time is three hours, and there is negativemarking. • The syllabus is huge for such an exam. However, it includes general study, history, English competence, geography and so on. For the Mains exam, the syllabus is morecomplex. • These are the basic things that one should know before preparing for this exam. There are several books and websites and online journals that help the candidates to prepare for the same. Apart from this basic knowledge, a detailed information might be needed for thispurpose.
