  2. St. Jude: A Hospital Without Walls • Daily operating costs exceed $1.3 million. • St. Jude treats children regardless of their race, religion, creed or ability to pay. Patients never receive a bill for treatment at St. Jude, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.

St. Jude: A Hospital Without Walls • St. Jude treats children with cancer, pediatric • HIV/AIDS, sickle cell disease, genetic diseases and other life-threatening diseases. • St. Jude has developed protocols that have brought survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent to 70 percent overall.

St. Jude: A Hospital Without Walls • St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and more than 70 countries. • In 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, due largely to treatment protocols developed at St. Jude, the survival rate for this once deadly disease is 93 percent.

  7. What is Up ‘til Dawn? Join Us: Wednesday Oct. 21st 10am-7pm Anacon Hall Letter Writing • A campus-wide event for anyone and everyone. • An opportunity to learn about St. Jude. • A way to have fun and save children’s lives. • Not your average club or service event.

  8. How Do I Get Involved? Join Us: Saturday, October 4th 7-10pm Boylan Gym Letter Writing and SnapShot Photos (Sponsored by SAB) • Participate in fund-raising activities. • Stay “Up ‘til Dawn” at the Finale Event.

  9. Fund raising • Each person attends a lettering event and takes part in a letter-writing campaign. • Bring 50 names and addresses of family and friends. • St. Jude provides all materials (letters, envelopes and postage). • On average, for every set of 50 letters mailed, more than $250 is donated to St. Jude. The Finale Event • The Finale Event is a 4 hour celebration of our fund-raising success. • We enjoy a night of fun entertainment. • We sacrifice an evening in honor of the patients and families at St. Jude who endure so many sleepless nights. • The Finale Event concludes with the exciting revealing of our fund-raising total.
