  1. Chhattisgarh Trending News Some of the Chhattisgarh Trending News today, August 11, 2023: ● Chhattisgarh: 50 farmers build dams to save crops from drought. A group of 50 farmers in Chhattisgarh's Durg district have built a dam to save their crops from drought. The farmers, who have been facing water scarcity for several years, pooled in their money and resources to build the dam. The dam has been built across a small stream and is able to store about 100,000 liters of water. The farmers say that the dam will help them irrigate their crops and prevent them from losing their livelihood. ● Chhattisgarh: Woman gang-raped in Pendra. A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Pendra district of Chhattisgarh. The incident took place on August 9, when the woman was going to her field. The accused men waylaid her and took her to a secluded place, where they raped her. The woman has been admitted to a hospital in Raipur in a critical condition. The police have arrested one of the accused and are on the lookout for the other two. ● Chhattisgarh: High Court transfers 40+ judges. The Chhattisgarh High Court has transferred 40+ judges, including the district judges of Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg. The transfers come as part of the routine exercise of the High Court to shuffle judges across the state. The new postings will come into effect from August 15. ● Chhattisgarh: BJP stages protest against potholes in roads. The BJP in Chhattisgarh staged a protest against the poor condition of roads in the state. The party workers held a demonstration in Raipur and demanded that the government take immediate steps to repair the roads. The BJP also accused the government of being insensitive to the plight of the people who are facing hardships due to the bad roads. ● Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel launches new scheme for farmers. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched a new scheme for farmers in Chhattisgarh. The scheme, called the Mukhyamantri Krishi Sahayata Yojana, will provide financial assistance to farmers for the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs. The scheme will benefit about 2 million farmers in the state.
