Canada Visa eTa: Important Information The electronic travel authorization (eTA) is an automatic system that determines the eligibility of those who want to travel to Canada. Only citizens of countries exempt from the visa requirement and legal permanent residents of the United States (in possession of a valid alien registration card, or Green Card) can apply for an eTA . Remember that you only need an eTA if you are going to travel by plane, travelers from visa-free countries and permanent residents of the United States who arrive by land or sea do not need to apply for the eTA.

At the moment there are 45 countries that do not require a visa to go to Canada: Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brunei, Citizens British, British citizens territories overseas 1, 2, Korea South, Croatia, Chile, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Solomon Islands, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Permanent Residents of the USA, Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland.
