  1. My ESC experience Kamila Fryszka

  2. How it started.... • I learned about the European Solidarity Corps just few months ago. My good friend was a long term volunteeron Madera last year and when she told me about the project I knew that i have to try. I dint have much time... this year I am going to be 31 so that was my last chance to be a participant. • After deciding that I want to try the only thing left was to find a perfect project for me, fill all of the forms and wait for the response.

  3. Izmir • My choice fell on Izmir, the third largest city in Turkey, located by the Aegean Sea: the population count might make your head spin. • Before coming I was also consideringanother town, situatedfurther east, but I'm very glad that I chose Izmir because I have a strong connection with water , and the proximity to the sea has a very positive effect on me. Additionally, Izmir is the most European city in Turkey, so it was the perfect place to start my Turkish adventure.

  4. Organizations • All of this wouldn't have been possible without the organizations that collaborate with the European Union and take care of th volunteers. • Both of them, the mother organization (Fundacja Rozwoju Społeczeństwa Przedsiębiorczego) and the hosting organization (Pi Genclik Dernegi) have done a fantastic job, and throughout the entire project, I felt that I had their support.

  5. Workshops • I came to Izmir just for 2 months, so I did not have enough time to create my own workshops so naturally I joined the ones that were already existing. • I can't imagine better groups than the ones I was taking care of. • I didn't have much of experience with working with kids and I was a little bit nervous that I may not handle it , I couldn't be more wrong, I love these kids and I'm very grateful for my group.

  7. Traveling • I was very determined to use my time in Turkey as much as I could, so whenever there was an oportunity to go somwhere outside Izmir I was doing it. Thanks to this approach I was able to visit many beautiful places.
