What is Alpha Beta Gamma? • Alpha Beta Gamma® International Business Honor Society is the sole business honor society for accredited junior, community and technical two year colleges. • The society exists to recognize and reward academic excellence among business honor students and to recognize the contribution to learning by professors and business professionals. • The society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, is a participating institute in the Association of Canadian Community College Affiliates Network and educational affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The society was founded in 1970 and currently has over 55,000 members.

Background • Organized in 1970 by business professors. • Established to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students in business curricula. • Since its founding over 55,000 students from accredited community, junior, and technical colleges have been initiated in the Society.

  3. Accredited By • Association of College Honor Societies • An educational affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) • And The Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC).

Accolades • Is the sole business honor society for accredited junior, community and technical two year colleges. • The society exists to recognize and reward academic excellence among business honor students and to recognize the contribution to learning and business by business professionals. • In 1998 the constitution was amended to accept business honor students from Mexico and Canada. • 55,000 members initiated to date. • Includes 200 chapters, business professors and advisors.

  8. Advisors Responsibilities • Conduct Annual Initiation Ceremony • Promote ABG on campus • Support Chapter Development • Nominate Honorary Members

  9. Chapter Membership Requirements • Dedicated Faculty Advisor needed to monitor chapter working with chapter officers. • Approval of College President • One time chapter application fee of $500 • Accredited College

Honors Journal • Publishes Award Winning Essays • Fundraising Ideas and other help for chapters • Learn about other chapter events • New Chapter Updates • Articles on Leadership & business submitted by Professors and Members • Annual Awards Criteria published each year • Chance for students to submit articles for publication
