Toastmasters International • History • Toastmasters International began in 1924 in the United States • 220K current members in 11,300 clubs in 90 countries • First Toastmasters Club in Microsoft in 1990 • Toastmaster Clubs in China began in 1999 with three clubs • The number of clubs in China expanded to 51 currently in 2007 and two thirds of the clubs are corporate clubs. • Companies who have corporate clubs in China include: • Motorola (three clubs) • Microsoft (two clubs, one in Beijing and one in Shanghai) • Sun Microsystems • Intel • Kraft Foods • ConocoPhillips • HSBC • GE • Dell • Website: http://www.toastmasters.org/

Toastmasters Club in MSCHINA • Microsoft FTE membership assistant program • US $125 club charter fee (Reimbursable) • Membership fees – 750 RMB • Membership service charge of US $27 for 6 months membership fees (Reimbursable) • Member training material charge of US $20 (Reimbursable) • Meal fee of RMB 195 • Member must complete Competent Communicator (CC) certificate by communication projects to be eligible for membership reimbursement • One year growth projection • Bi-weekly or weekly meeting • Starting with 25 members (20 minimum) • Avg. one new member per month • 12 – 15 members complete first CC certificate in first year
