Toastmasters International • History • Toastmasters International began in 1924 in the United States • 220K current members in 11,300 clubs in 90 countries • First Toastmasters Club in Microsoft in 1990 • Toastmaster Clubs in China began in 1999 with three clubs • The number of clubs in China expanded to 51 currently in 2007 and two thirds of the clubs are corporate clubs. • Companies who have corporate clubs in China include: • Motorola (three clubs) • Microsoft (two clubs, one in Beijing and one in Shanghai) • Sun Microsystems • Intel • Kraft Foods • ConocoPhillips • HSBC • GE • Dell • Website: http://www.toastmasters.org/
