  1. Grade 7 Agricultural Crops

  2. Agriculture is the practice of cultivating plants and rearing animals for food, fiber, medicinal plants, and other products used to sustain and enhance human life. It is a broad and essential field that encompasses the entire process of food production, from the preparation of soil for planting to the harvesting of crops and the breeding and raising of livestock.

  3. Key Aspects of Agriculture Crop Production Involves growing various types of crops, such as cereals (wheat, rice), fruits, vegetables, and cash crops (cotton, coffee).Techniques include plowing, sowing, irrigating, fertilizing, and harvesting. ANIMAL HUSBANDRY The breeding and care of animals like cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry for meat, milk, eggs, wool, and other products. Includes practices such as feeding, breeding, and health management of livestock.

  4. Horticulture The cultivation of gardens or orchards, producing fruits, vegetables, flowers, and ornamental plants. Horticulture can involve specialized practices like greenhouse farming, landscaping, and floriculture. AQUACULTURE The farming of fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and aquatic plants in controlled environments. It is a significant source of seafood and contributes to food security.

Forestry The management and cultivation of forests to produce timber, paper, and other forest products, as well as to conserve natural resources and biodiversity AGROFORESTRY Combines agriculture and forestry practices to create more sustainable land-use systems. Includes planting trees alongside crops or grazing animals to improve soil health, biodiversity, and crop yields.

  6. Agrotechnology The application of technology and scientific research to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability. Involves the use of machinery, biotechnology, irrigation systems, and data analytics in farming. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE Practices that aim to meet current food and fiber needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Focuses on environmental health, economic profitability, and social equity, including organic farming, conservation tillage, and crop rotation.
