  2. Funding context for heritage • Significant reduction in Government and local authority funding across all parts of heritage over next four years • HLF grants budget of around £300m p.a. from 2012-2013 onwards

  3. Recent responsive measures • Reduced match funding requirement for Heritage Grants and Parks for People • Heritage Grants projects can now count management and maintenance costs towards match funding • Major batch over £5m – removed fixed timetable from second round applications • More flexibility on grant increases where needed • Development funding towards some fundraising and business planning costs • Short-term help available to improve the financial sustainability of past projects
