The Statistics What are the statistics of the lengths stayed at the library? What is the frequency of students visiting the library? What are the statistics of the hours of student use of the internet? What is the frequency of student internet use? In percentage, how many people prefer the internet over the library? 86% compared to 14% The majority of students use the internet every day. A large number of students never go to the library, while others visit at an infrequent rate. More than half the students that visit the library stay only for the first hour. Over 84% of students use the internet more than an hour on average.
The Signifiance • A trend in the use of the internet – libraries are no longer the primary resource tool for many • It is a priority for students who do not have internet • access, to acquire it • Schools should be more fitted to the new technology, • to support new learning/education methods • Public services like libraries should strive support for • the growing need of online information
Conclusion Our survey has shown just how widespread and important the internet really is as a resource. It is important that we keep up with tomorrow. It leads in dominance over the long traditional, undisputed information tools, such as books. Thank you for listening to our presentation. We believe education systems should strive to outfit themselves to the better technology and services of tomorrow.
