  1. STOP SNORING : SOLUTIONS FOR HEAVY SNORERS Snoring is one of the most common problems among people, irrespective of gender & age. It is something that people often ignore or do not care about unless it starts creating a problem for others. Why Do People Snore? When you breathe while asleep, air passes down your throat, which causes snoring. It results in harsh, perhaps grating, noises when the relaxed tissues in your throat vibrate. Both your and your partner’s sleep may be disturbed by snoring. Snoring is a sign that should not be disregarded, even if it isn’t very bothersome to you. In reality, snoring might be a sign of several significant medical conditions, including: Obstructed airways, often known as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), Obesity A problem with the way your mouth, nose, or throat are built Sleeping too little 1) Sleep on your side Your tongue may move to the back of your throat while sleeping on your back, partially obstructing the air passage. You might only need to sleep on your side to allow air to circulate freely and lessen or stop snoring. 2) Get enough sleep Make sure you receive the 7-9 hours of sleep each night that people require. The problem of snoring may increase if you don’t take good sleep. It generally happens because it will relax the muscles in your throat, rendering you more susceptible to airway obstruction. Snoring can lead to disrupted sleep, which might raise your risk of sleep deprivation. 3) Raise your bed’s head. You may get relief from snoring by lifting your head’s side of the bed a bit, and by raising the head, we mean adding some pillows or bed risers. It can help you in getting rid of your snoring problem. 4) Use nasal dilators or nasal strips. Another great way of getting rid of snoring is by applying stick-on nasal strips. You can put these strips on your nose’s bridge to assist the nasal airway. By using these strips, you can improve your breathing capacity, and ultimately it will lead to less or no snoring. Apart from this, the snorers can go for an external nasal dilator. An external nasal dilator is a rigid, sticky strip on top of the snorer’s nose. It will make the breathing process more accessible and can result in a reduction in snoring. 5. Cut down or avoid alcohol before bed. Cutting down or consuming less amount of alcohol can reduce the problem of snoring. Alcohol plays a vital role in snoring problems as it relaxes the muscle in the throat. Moreover, alcohol can affect your sleep. For example, as per 2020 reports, alcohol is directly related to less REM sleep durations. These were tremendous yet easy ways for heavy snorers to stop snoring and sleep peacefully. This way, the snorer and their partners can both have a pleasant and friendly sleep without disturbance.
