  1. ASK YOUR CONTRACTOR THESE QUESTIONS BEFORE THE KITCHEN RENOVATION Kitchen renovations are a huge investment, since the kitchen may be one of the most complicated rooms in your home to remodel. It is therefore important to ask your contractor these fundamental questions before starting with the kitchen renovation, so that you’ll be fully informed of everything involved in the process and be able to keep up with everything. Do you have the appropriate license and insurance? Check with your local government or council to see if your prospective contractor has the proper license.

  2. You should also see a copy of the contractor’s certificate of insurance listing you as additionally insured in the event that the insurance policy expires while renovations are still ongoing. Can you come up with a detailed contract? Have a blueprint of the kitchen design that you desire as done by the architect, and have this dated. Bring this with you when you’re meeting with the contractor, and put everything you talk about in writing. All of the things you agree on, including the price list for all the materials and labor, the penalty for not finishing the job on time, and who is assigned to acquire permits, will comprise your contract, which is why it’s important to note all of it down with sufficient specificity. How do you prefer to communicate? What is the most convenient way for your contractor to correspond with you? Whether via phone or email, this is important to know so that you won’t have communication problems. There may be an office assistant involved, or some other person who relays messages. Find out who they are, so you have a complete picture of how your communication with your contractor flows. SOURCE URL: - https://bit.ly/2MfTnKj
