Seacoat has engineered and created a new, extremely durable bottom coat technology that is super smooth with a surface roughness of only 5 micron (5 thousandths of a millimeter). That 5 um compares very favorably to the 150 um (+/- 25) for today’s competition: depletive technology. Naval architects and designers say that for every 10 um of improved smoothness, fuel savings improve by .5%.
