Boston’s southernmost neighborhood is known to be Hyde Park, offering the intangibles of city life as well as the suburban characteristics. It is home to a diverse range of people, housing types, and social groups. Fairmont Hill of Hyde Park has many architecturally notable Victorian houses; other houses include the historic Queen Anne, and Georgian revival designs. Hyde Park also has a quite inventory of warehouses and factory buildings in the Readville neighborhood, located along the Neponset River and Mother Brook. Its central business district also features a variety of historical buildings. During the late spring and summer, resident make their way to Hyde Park to golf at the George Wright Golf Course. This is one of the city’s two major golf courses. It charm is captures by the heart of Mayor Thomas Menino, who is a lifelong resident to Hyde Park.
