  2. Google has teased with Android Oreo’s basic improvements and features on August 21. Everyone is eager to know what it would mean to them and would their phone be able to support it? Initially Android will be available on only Google’s devices on Pixel phones and the high end Nexus phones only. Google has worked massively on the backend features of the operating system but changes have been only made sparsely on the User Interface aspect. Here are 5 facts about Android Oreo you must know.

  3. 1. Notification on App Icons: Here, Android has tried to emulate the badge notifications that are available on the iOS devices. Similar to 3D touch on iOS devices, this notification icon will give you a short view of the notification or scroll down the notification bar.

  4. 2. New Faces: With the new version of Android, Google has brought few changes in the emojis. During the process of change, they have added over 60 new emojis.

  5. 3. Better Performance: While this is a claim substantiated by few reviewers on main stream media, Android Oreo is expected to have a 2X faster booting time. As we mentioned several upgrades to the back-end of the OS have resulted in better battery performance as well.

  6. 4. Sorted Settings: They have made a few changes to the settings screen as well. This is suspected from user statistics but what has happened is the order of features in settings has been reshuffled bringing more used features above the rest.

  7. 5. Security: Google has brought a lot of improvements in settings with the introduction of Google Play Protect. While this would increase security, it is also going to make it difficult for new applications to be listed in the store.
