  2. Why background is as important as the subject?

  3. Background is as important as it forms a base for the picture. • So you must be very particular about choosing the backdrop, so you get the right impact.

  4. Weed out Distractions • You must remove distractions from the background. • Interesting objects and bright colour are quite distracting. • So remove all such objects in the background to cut out the chance of disturbing the focus of the picture.

  5. Make the Backdrop Blurry • If you want to make the subject more prominent, blurring the background is quite useful for the purpose. • This will also make the objects behind the subject less distracting.

  6. Use different Lights for the subject as well as the background

  7. You can use two types of lights for the subject and the background for separating them from each other. • For example, softbox or beauty dish can be used for subject and an umbrella for the backdrop.

  8. Use Artificial Backdrop Screens • Artificial photography backdrops are also useful in making a picture look good. • These equipment are available in variety of colours and patterns.

  9. Add Features and Props • You can also add props and other features for make a picture more appealing. • For example, you can click a child sitting on his/her bicycle. • Think of innovating techniques without limiting your horizon of imagination.
