  3. Which Type of Music Is Best for Your Wedding?  One of the first things on your mind is likely the price. A DJ is usually cheaper than hiring a live band, and it will be easier for you to play a variety of music at your reception. This could be better for your budget, and you can make requests prior to the wedding to make sure that the music you want is included in your special day. The DJ can also play the music that you’d prefer at your ceremony, but you’ll need to consider the space that you have for the occasion to ensure that the DJ will have the space they need to set up their equipment. Depending on the decorative theme for your wedding, you may want to adorn the DJ table with lace or flowers to make sure that it fits with the rest of the décor. Just remember that if you want a famous DJ or a DJ who is well known in your area to provide the music for your wedding, this could end up costing just as much as having live musicians. That’s why it’s important to compare local DJs in terms of skill and price to make sure that you’re making the best choice.

  4. Which Type of Music Is Best for Your Wedding?  If you’re determined to have a live band at your wedding ceremony and reception, just remember that the more musicians you hire, the more money you’ll have to come up with. If you want an eight-piece band for the occasion, you’ll need to have the budget to pay each person in the band. If you still want live music but want to make sure your ceremony is affordable, it may be best to hire a string quartet to provide an elegant touch to your nuptials. The quartet can also play at the reception if this part of the day will be especially refined. Or, you can choose to have live music at your wedding and a DJ at the reception. This is a great way to change the vibe of the two parts of the wedding celebration, and the mixture of slow and fast songs could encourage everyone at your wedding to get up and dance depending on their musical preferences.

  5. The Benefits to Having a Wedding Band  When you have a live band at your wedding and reception, there’s a good chance that you’ll have some unexpected moments that will make the music more memorable. For instance, if one of the musicians in the band does a riff or solo that makes the crowd go wild, your friends and family are more likely to remember this. You can also request that the band play songs that are of special significance to you and your spouse, such as songs that are culturally important, or the first song that the two of you danced to.  If you’re going with a live band, consider hiring a singer with the band as well. Or, ask if some of the musicians also sing. This can add another element of entertainment to the musical aspect of your nuptials and breaks up the monotony of having a band play instrumental selections. You can hire the soloist to sing a special song as you enter the wedding venue or to sing the words to the song you’ve chosen for your first dance. Or, you can hire the singer to have a concert at the reception that your friends and loved ones will enjoy.

  6. The Benefits to Having a Wedding Band  Once you’ve chosen the location for the wedding, it may be easier for you to decide what you’re going to do about the music. If you’ve got limited space, it may be better to hire a DJ, since this is only one person and you won’t have to accommodate an entire band. A DJ may not charge as much as a live band, and it won’t take as much effort for the DJ to switch between slow and fast songs at the reception. You can also hire a singer to perform the songs that the DJ spins, so you’ll still have live entertainment at a fraction of the cost.
