  3. ALEXMACKENZIE – THE WINEMAKER This young winemaker was born and brought up in Melbourne. He developed a very strong liking for the wine region with his childhood trips to meet his grandparents in Clare Valley. At the tender age of 16, he discovered his passion for wine and pursued a course in Viticulture at the University of Adelaide Waite Campus. After completing his course, he worked in France at Maison M.Chapoutier where he was exposed to organic viticultural practices, inspiring him to implement sustainable viticultural practices, letting nature take its course. His passion for wine can be witnessed in the various wine regions where he worked beside Clare Valley which are Coonawarra and Barossa wine regions. Eagertolearnmoreandgainmoreexperience, hedidhisPostGraduation inWinemakingfromWaiteCampusandwasajudgeatawineshow. It’s saidheisdeeplyinvolvedinallthefactorspertainingtowinemakingandis keentoexploreItalianandSpanishvarietals.

People are in awe of this valley as it has the ability to produce full-bodied red wines as well as floral Rieslings, posing a quite a mystery for the viticulturlists to decipher.
