  2. Diamante • A diamante is a seven line poem, shaped like a diamond. Ex: Day Bright Sunny Laughing, playing, doing Up in the east,down in the west Talking, resting, sleeping Quiet, dark Night

  3. Directions • You are going to create a cause and effect diamante poem. The first 3 ½ lines will be about the cause, and the last 3 ½ lines will be about the effect.

  4. Format Cause Adjective, Adjective (about cause) -ing word, ing word, -ing word (about cause) Four nouns (two about cause, two about effect) -ing word, -ing word, -ing word (about effect) Adjective, Adjective (about effect) Effect

  5. Example of Cause and Effect Diamante Sun Bright Yellow Shining Glistening Beaming Sunglasses TowelAloe Clothing Burning Stinging Peeling Red Itchy Sunburn

  6. Checklist • Did you use the correct diamante format? • Did you use the parts of speech correctly? • Is the last line an effect of the first line? • Did you color and/or decorate your poem?
