TYPES OF FISHBONE DIAGRAMS IN LEAN PROBLEM SOLVING

<br>Lean problem solving uses fishbone diagrams. It also known as Ishikawa or cause-and-effect diagrams, to identify and analyze the root causes of problems. Several types cater to different needs. The standard fishbone diagram categorizes causes into people, processes, equipment, and materials. The 5M fishbone diagram emphasizes man, machine, material, method, and measurement. Other variations focus on specific factors, such as environmental or policy issues, enabling teams to visually map complex problems and pinpoint areas for improvement in the lean process.
