The most convenient way to travel around the national park is by jeep safari as it also helps in Tiger tracking (which is our main aim as tigers are endangered species). The timings reserved for entry into, as well as exit from vary according to the season. During winter, due to the shorter period of daylight hours, the entry in the morning begins a little later while the evening exit time is a bit earlier as compared to the timings during the summer months. The winter timings of the national park are as follows: Morning Safari: 0730 hrs- 1030 hrs Evening Safari :1500 hrs – 1700 hrs The summer timings are as follows: Morning Safari: 0630 hrs- 0930 hrs Evening Safari: 1600 hrs- 1800 hrs Flora & Fauna This huge national park boasts of having over 488 different species of plants and 586 species of resident and migratory birds. Some unique birds to look out for are including the crested serpent eagle, blossom-headed parakeet and the red jungle fowl which are ancestor of fowl. Apart from birds there are 33 species of reptiles, 7 species of amphibians, 7 species of fish and 36 species of dragonflies have also been recorded(till date).

  3. To spot a Bengal tiger in this forest is a challenge due to the abundance of foliage – camouflage – in the reserve. Thick jungle, the Ramganga River and plentiful prey makes this reserve a haven for tigers. The tigers in the park are quite skilled and can kill much larger animals such as buffalo and even elephant for food. This happens only when there are cases of food shortage. There have also been incidents of tigers attacking domestic animals in times of shortage of prey.
