  1. How To Uninstall Avast Antivirus From Your PC

  2. If you want to uninstall your Avast antivirus then it is recommended to use a special tool known as Uninstall Utility. It will ensure a clean installation your antivirus and also that it is completely removed from your personal computer without anytraces.  This will resolve many of the issues you may face if you try to uninstall it by traditional method of using the standard ‘Uninstall or change a program’ from Program Control Panel. Here is a guide to help you do it yourself.

Removal by Using the Uninstall Utility in Safe Mode • First you have to download the Uninstall Utility tool (avastclear.exe) from here and then save it on your desktop • Disconnect the internet from your computer for the sake of avoiding any kind risk since you would without an antivirus for some time. • Now, you will have to boot into Window’s Safe Mode by doing following step:

  4. Manually restart your computer and press F8 before the Windows logo shows up. • Then you have to select ‘Safe Mode’ in windows and then run the downloaded file and afterwards click on ‘Yes’ for restarting and booting your computer into Safe Mode.

  5. 4. When it is in Safe Mode then run the file and choose product you are willing to uninstall. • 5.When the successful removal has been achieved restart your computer.

Removal Using the Uninstall Utility in Normal Mode If you are not able to enter the Safe Mode in your windows for any reason then you can perform the removal in the Normal Mode by following the below steps: • Again you have to Download the Uninstall Utility using the same link here and then save it on your desktop. • Again disconnect your computer from the Internet. • Now, open it and then go to ‘Settings‘ then to ‘Troubleshooting‘ and then un-check ‘Enable Avast self-defense module‘

  7. 4. You will have to turn off your Avast. Right-click on the icon of the Avast and then go to ‘Avast shields control’ then click on ‘Disable for 1 hour’ • 5. Now, run the same file and chose the product you want to uninstall • 6.Afterwards restart your computer
