  4. Do Your Homework!! • Read current literature • Read local paper and Wall Street Journal • Take a workshop at an adult ed center or local community center • Do research on the real estate market in your target community.

  5. Select a specific geographic area • Length of commute/ Public transportation • School systems • Medical services • Cultural events or venues • Extended family • Recreational facilities

  6. Pre-qualify • How much can I afford ? • Get your free credit reports.
