  2. Midterm Review ◎Assignment of midterm score percentage ▶Midterm grade is just for midterm paragraph ▶Midterm paragraph is applied on 18% of all semester

  3. ◎Assignment of midterm paragraph points ▶Total – 50 points ▶Writing – 40 points ▶Audio – 10 points

  4. ◎Writing part ▶Topic Sentence : 5 points -Topic sentence should show an interesting and informative things. Example of interesting thing) About ‘Why we drink water?’, ‘Does alien exist?’, etc.. Example of informative thing) About ‘Global warming’s effect’, ‘Policy of Je-ju Island’, etc..

  5. ▶Supporting Sentences : 12 points -Supporting sentences should have minimum 3 reasons. -The 3 reasons must show clear, specific, detailed, concise information. -The reasons must include specific examples and information source. -Outside support : The grounds of reason should supported by expert’s opinion(not someone’s opinion) and fact.

  6. Example of specific information) ‘MERS patients occured in Samsung Seoul Hospital.’ Example of specific name) ‘Dr. Lee’s who works in Samsung Seoul Hospital’ ※ If the sources are deficient or defective, the points were given lower then 9.

  7. ▶Concluding Sentence : 3 points -Concluding Sentence should talk about the topic in different words. Non examples) - ‘Thank you for reading my paragraph.’ - Not writing Concluding Sentence - Finish for final reason

  8. ▶Writing : 10 points -Compound and Complex sentences are must used in Writing part. →Because sentence variety is needed. -Don’t start with ‘FANBOYS’. -Check for basis.

  10. ▶Visual Element : 10 points -Visual Element means the visual completeness about paragraph. -Visual Element contains your name, course number, date, title in center, double space, using the TAB key, and margin. -The picture, chart, footnote are also Visual Element. -Write Capital on title
