  1. Woman’s Health Counselling You may ?nd yourself struggling with a recent life transition: becoming a parent, starting a new career, entering menopause, navigating a new relationship, retiring or adjusting to life with children. Regardless of what this new chapter of life entails, we understand that these changes can come with a lot of worry and stress. While there may be a part of you excited and hopeful for this new transition, there may be another part of you stricken by anxiety and uncertain of what is to come. There may be sadness navigating the notion of moving forward, while also facing grief over the things you will have to leave behind and may never experience again. You may struggle to come to terms with what it means to age. You may not recognize this new you. For some entering menopause may be a daunting experience where you come face to face with uncertainty and discomfort. It can feel like the ending of a chapter, leaving behind the ability to have children or losing a sense of youthfulness. For women who were unable to have children, despite their intense longing, this transition may be especially di?cult, bringing forth another wave of agony and sadness over what life has taken from them. For others, they may be navigating the experience of pregnancy. While some new parents may feel excitement and hope for the new baby to come, others may face uneasiness and worry. It may be a challenge to adjust to your new body, ?nding it hard to deal with morning sickness, tiredness or growing pains. As if managing the experience of being pregnant is not enough, you may have been diagnosed with a health condition, whether it be diabetes, high blood pressure or something else. As you work towards coming to terms with this medical condition, you might be worried about how it will impact you and your future child or how you will ever ?nd any level of comfort in your daily life. You may ?nd yourself stressed over how you will adjust to this new role. While some people may feel like they have a strong support system, others may feel alone to navigate without a trusted family doctor or immediate family or close friends. On the other hand, some women may struggle with a persistent sense of sadness and emptiness, feeling overwhelmed by the constant worry and questions on why you have not connected enough with your new child. You may be overburdened with guilt, feeling like you are failing as a new mother. As this guilt deepens, you may struggle with shame thinking that you were never meant to be a mother and that there must be something innately wrong with you to feel such sadness and disconnection. For whatever reason you ?nd yourself here, we wish to support you to explore and process your experience, leading from a place of genuine curiosity and warmth. As you are the expert of your story, the space we create together will be one that suspends judgment and meets you exactly where you are at.   To ensure we honor the voices of those with lived experience, this section has graciously been written by our own Chantel Van Vliet.
