  1. Rehabilitación de rellenos sanitarios con geosintéticos Naue H1 Do you know what a sanitary landfill is? What are they for? How do they work? Throughout this article, we will answer those questions. We also tell you how it is possible to rehabilitate landfills using geosynthetic materials. What is a sanitary landfill and how do they work? H2 Landfills are spaces where a city's solid waste is deposited after having received certain treatments. Its main objective is to store garbage in layers of a certain thickness in areas far from the city and then cover it with materials with specific characteristics to achieve adequate management of odors and gases that are generated after covering the waste. Advantages of landfills:  They require a moderate investment.  They can contain a large amount of garbage.  They receive all types of solid waste.  Once the space reaches its limit it can be used for purposes such as recreation parks, etc. Types of landfills:  Total containment: Waste and its contamination potential remain unchanged for a long period of time. It implies the acceptance of indefinite responsibility for the risk of contamination. They are used for nuclear waste and other waste considered dangerous and/or highly polluting.

  2. Leachate Containment and Collection: Control water flow and minimize leaks through a low- permeability liner and leachate removal. This type of fill is the one most used for MSW landfills in countries  Controlled Contaminant Release: The top cover and liner are designed to allow the generation and filtration of leachate at a controlled and calculated rate. These fills are suitable in certain places, and for certain types of waste such as inorganic waste.  Unrestricted release of contaminants: Does not exercise control over the entry or exit of water. They are used in rural locations, particularly in less developed countries. Each of the sanitary landfills mentioned above are made up of cells, which protect the soil through a geomembrane that channels highly polluting liquids produced by the decomposition of waste (leachates). Rehabilitation of landfills: Sealing systems with geosynthetics help reduce future pollutant emissions to soil, water and air. An essential part of the rehabilitation work is the sealing and recultivation of the landfill surfaces to prevent the infiltration of rainwater and counteract the formation of contaminated water. Thanks to the geosynthetics of Naue®, it has It has been possible for old landfills to become green areas that integrate perfectly into the landscapes in many places around the world. The Naue® materials that are usually used to carry out rehabilitation work are: GCL Bentofix®: It is an expansive mineral clay that has high absorption capacities and low permeability that, when hydrated, effectively isolates liquids, vapors and gases Gegrid Secugrid®: Structurally solid and stable for long-term performance in base layer reinforcement for roads and railways, retaining walls and slopes, sheet metal reinforcement, embankments, load transfer platforms on piles and other challenging applications.

  3. Three-dimensional meshSecumat®: Reduces surface erosion and helps to bind and reinforce the areas where plant roots grow. Wherever it is used, this product guarantees quick installation. All these materials can be found in LDM ®. Visit our page, and contact our team to receive the best service and advice.
