Le sette meraviglie del mondo antico Queste erano le opere umane più belle e imponenti, tanto da essere definite le sette meraviglie del mondo. Si trovavano tutte al confine tra la civiltà occidentale e quella orientale (sulla linea Egitto-Grecia-Mesopotamia), e solo fra il 250 e il 226 a.C. fu probabilmente possibile vederle tutte, poiché in seguito, pian piano, andarono distrutte; oggi rimangono in piedi solo le piramidi di Giza, la costruzione più antica, imponente e misteriosa delle sette.
