  2. For more than 60 years, the National Sheriffs’ Association has been committed to the safety and security of America’s communities. For more than 30 years, The National Neighborhood Watch Program, an initiative of NSA, has been one of the most effective ways for citizens to become involved with law enforcement for the protection of our neighborhoods. In 2002, USAonWatch was created under President Bush’s Citizen Corpsinitiativeto empower citizens to become directly involved with Neighborhood Watch for the purpose of homeland security.

  3. Neighborhood Watch -USAonWatch Neighborhood Watch is Homeland Security at the most local level! It is an opportunity to volunteer and work towards the safety and security of our homes and our homeland! Empowers citizens and communities to become active in emergency preparedness, as well as the fight against crime AND… DOMESTIC TERRORISM!

FY 04 Accomplishments • Increased registrations of watch groups on USAonwatch • Partnered with United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service • Worked with VA Tech to develop an instrument to survey and analyze the impact of NW. • Distributed over 20,000 Action Packs • Developed a Law Enforcement Section on the website. • Translated materials into Spanish
