Benefits of Using Coconut Oil For Infant Hair

Baby massage is not a new thing for Indians and even has its roots in historical works of literature. Massage is more than a form of relaxation and has been a part of Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It enhances blood circulation, helps get rid of toxins, improves digestive functions, and boosts overall well-being.

  1. Benefits of Using Coconut Oil For Infant Hair

  2. Trendy skincare products are continuously appearing and disappearing. But after using coconut oil on our three children's skin and hair for the past four years, it's obvious that it's more than just a trendy baby product.  We have examined the "hows" and "whys" of coconut oil's efficiency as a personal care product and why it works so effectively. Additionally, we have examined its specific application in the treatment of cradle caps, which we have always found to be a problem for children.  Including coconut oil in our children's bath time ritual and using it to massage their skin and hair has been incredibly helpful as we've raised three mixed-race children with specific skin needs and frequent breakouts.

  3. The Science Behind Coconut Oil Despite having one of the highest concentrations of saturated fats (93%) of any food when it comes to consumption, studies on human food consumption have not found any links between using coconut oil and an increased risk of heart disease. In comparison to other vegetable oils, coconut oil's triacylglycerol (TAG) composition contains more Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs), which increases its water solubility and improves its digestibility. As a matter of fact, the MCFAs in coconut oil even differ in how they are metabolized from other MCFAs since they have a high concentration of a specific carbon, Lauric acid. What distinguishes coconut oil from other oils is the presence of Lauric. Of all the fatty acids, lauric acid is the least responsible for the buildup of fat.

  4. How It Helps Your Scalp? When it comes to skincare, the type of coconut oil you use makes a big difference   But the general properties of coconut oil for infant are also good for skin and hair. The high content of lauric as a fatty acid means it is more water soluble compared to other oils and that makes it great at locking in moisture in your skin. Infant skin is less naturally moisturizing than adult skin, so locking in moisture and supporting the thinner Lipid skin barrier are really important for children.

  5. Your choice of coconut oil has a significant impact on your skincare regimen; for advice on making the best choice, check the section below.  But coconut oil's general benefits for skin and hair also apply. Being more water soluble than other oils due to the high amount of lauric as a fatty acid makes it ideal for retaining moisture in your skin. Locking in moisture and bolstering the lipid skin barrier, which is thinner in children than in adults, are crucial since infant skin is less naturally moisturizing.

  6. Wrapping Up  The high lauric acid content of coconut oil is once more the key to its superiority when it comes to hair. The hair shaft can be successfully penetrated thanks to its light weight and straight molecular chain. It is able to pass the scalp and attach to the proteins in the hair follicle because of this. This is quite useful as it can stop protein loss in hair that is damaged or undamaged when you wash with shampoos that might otherwise strip the hair of these qualities.
