  2. EFFECT OF PEDAGOGY, POVERTY AND ETHNICITY ON EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY OF A HEAD START SCHOOL

  3. BACKGROUND • Formal and informal learning is descended from an ancient tradition of South Asia. This learning varies across the geographical distribution and also got impression of the socio-economic perspective. A survey has identified that there are various types of schools, madrassas, colleges, universities and other institutions exist in Pakistan. They are classified by variable medium of instruction (GOP 2006a). My motivation for choosing a Head Start Welfare School was my affiliation with that institution and also the congenial relationship with the pupil.

  4. PROBLEM STATEMENT • Tripartite problem : • Cultural barriers • Poverty Elevation • Ineffective Pedagogical Practices

  5. PURPOSE OF STUDY • Insight study of the socio-economic engineering • To analyze the impact of pedagogical practices • Comprehension of cultural aspects and mindset of impoverish household • To provide a mechanism for equal gender participation in education.

  6. SIGNIFICANCE • A road map which facilitate in the movement for the alleviation of illiteracy. • Identifies the core areas in which reform is required. • Provides useful pedagogical methods which will help in the retention of students. • This research pave ways to provide more opportunities for impoverish families to not withhold their children’s education

  7. RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS • Community responsive pedagogy has a positive effect on student performance
