  1. Overview of HVAC Systems In an office building, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems generally account for 39% of all energy usage. However, by applying efficiency tactics and controls, there is the possibility for huge cost reductions. When compared to traditional buildings, energy-efficient structures save 40–50% of their energy. Energy Use in HVAC: This typical breakdown is dependent on a variety of elements, including building loads, system and equipment efficiency, meteorological conditions, etc. System pumps move hot, chilled, and condenser water, while fans move air throughout the system. It is acknowledged that there is a growing demand for cooling and heating, and advances in technology may provide these needs in a more cost-effective, efficient way. HVAC Processes: The following procedures are necessary to regulate the loads and maintain an ideal Thermal comfort range: ● Heating: The process of increasing or regulating the temperature of a room by adding thermal energy (heat). ● Cooling: The process of removing thermal energy (heat) from the area in order to reduce or regulate its temperature. ● Humidifying: The method of increasing or controlling the humidity in a climate- controlled environment by introducing moisture (water vapour) to the air. ● Dehumidifying: The method of removing moisture (water vapour) from the air in a climate-controlled area to reduce or regulate humidity. ● Cleaning: The procedure of eliminating pollutants (such as pollen and insects) and particles (such as dust matter) from the area in order to enhance or maintain air quality. ● Ventilating: The procedure of supplying enough fresh air while allowing for air exchange to eliminate air pollutants that are gaseous and diluted.
