  2. So what is land transport? The transportation of goods and products from one place to another is called land transportation. It may involve shipping or transporting by land, with primary mode of transport either by land, water or air. Goods and products from one place to another have to be transported by land as there is no other means of transport. The land transport industry is a heavy user of energy and resources, and its environmental impact has received considerable attention. There are two main approaches to reducing the environmental impact of land transport. One is to improve vehicle efficiency, and the other is to provide incentives for the use of cleaner fuels.
