  1. How should your Canada Express Entry profile be updated to reflect the new TEER/NOC codes? The National Occupation Classification (NOC) system will switch to the 2021 edition on November 16 according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Here are the implications of that change for Express Entry applicants. First off, work experience is categorised under NOC skill types 0, A, or B under the foremost recent NOC system (NOC 2016). The new Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) system are going to be used by IRCC starting on November 16. The majority of employment will remain in the TEER category that corresponds to their NOC skill level, consistent with IRCC, but "certain jobs may change to a replacement TEER category" (more on that below). Additionally, all profession codes are going to be five digits long instead of four under the new TEER system. This is how the skill type categories of the current NOC system match up with the TEER categories of the 2021 NOC system. Skill Type 0 (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 0 (NOC 2021) Skill A (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 1 (NOC 2021) Skill B (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 2 (NOC 2021)

  2. Skill B (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 3 (NOC 2021) Skill Type C (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 4 (NOC 2021) Skill Type D (NOC 2016) translates to TEER 5 (NOC 2021) Steps to edit your Express Entry profile consistent with the new NOC/TEER code system Candidates must adhere to the new NOC/TEER code system if they need to build a new Express Entry profile. Candidates who have already got an Express Entry profile but did not receive an ITA must change their profile in accordance with the new NOC/TEER code scheme. The procedure for editing your Express Entry profile in accordance with the TEER code scheme is shown below. Step 1: search your new NOC code on the list for NOC 2021. Step 2: Visit the web site of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Step 3: Add the TEER category and five-digit profession code to your profile. According to NOC 2016, applicants who received their ITAs before to November 16, 2022, must submit their Express Entry applications. Looking for help with your Canada PR visa application?
