Using parallel dialogue, you describe what the youngster is doing. For example, discuss what the youngster is doing, seeing, eating, or touching. Phrase extension: Prolonged speech is a fluency technique that involves slightly lengthening each speaking sound. We offer the brain more time to plan speech by slightly delaying our sound output. Situational discourse: Therapeutic discourse is the talk-in-interaction that expresses the clinician's and client's social practice.
