Aqua Europa launched 2005 - strategic objectives: To operate as the representative body for supply chain of European water and wastewater industry in all aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure development and management To help promote best practice in water resource management & workable regulation

AE aims to support members in promoting the supply of the most appropriate technologies, products and services for applications in - domestic and commercial water treatment - industrial process water treatment and management - water cycle management practice - municipal water supply - wastewater treatment - swimming pool water treatment - water infrastructure development in European and other agreed markets

AE operates to support national associations and provide a platform to promote the Research and Development capability of the European water and wastewater industry Strong focus on developing effective European technical standards, products and applications to sustain environmental and financial resources

Operating through the Task Group structure, AE has an active programme for 2009 covering New projects under umbrella of CEN TC 164/WG 13 Membrane development for ultra-filtration and adjustable dosing pumps Revision of the Drinking Water Directive Lobbying programme for development of EAS and inclusion of water treatment equipment within scope of M 136

    17. 2008 programme - continued AE is partner with the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Management at University of Witten, Germany, in EU’s Asia Invest II Programme for the development of Environmental Modular Advanced Compact Systems (“EMACS”) to be adapted to polluting SMEs in China, Thailand and Vietnam, and successor programmes
