  2. El condicional • To talk about what you could, or would do, use the conditional tense. • The conditional helps you to talk about what wouldhappen under certain conditions. • The conditional is used to make polite requests.

  3. El condicional • Like the future tense, -ar, -er, and –ir verbs all have the same endings that are added directly to the infinitive. -ía -íamos infinitive-ías -íais -ía -ían

  4. If the verb has an irregular stem in the future, use the same stem in the conditional. decir dir- hacer har- poder podr- poner pondr- querer querr- saber sabr- salir saldr- tener tendr- venir vendr- Los irregulares

  5. Los ejemplos • Yo estaría a favor de comprar flores para embellecer la comunidad. (I would/could be in favor of buying flowers to beautify the community.) • Siempre diríamos la verdad. (We would/should always tell the truth.) • ¿Te gustaría ir al cine conmigo? (Would you like to go to the movies with me? • Note: The conditional form of haber is habría (there would be).

Modelo: visitar al Palacio de Bellas Artes Yo visitaría al Palacio de Bellas Artes. 1. ir a las pirámides de Teotihuacán 2. comprar regalos en la Zona Rosa 3. escuchar música de mariachi 4. asistir a un concierto de Luis Miguel 5. comer en el restaurante del San Ángel Inn 6. mandar tarjetas postales a todos mis amigos 7. buscar el museo de Frida Kahlo 8. pasearme por el Parque de Chapultepec
