  1. Making Sure Your Dental Practice Is Always Well Prepared Running any successful office, also a dental practice is no easy task. It requires different skills from managers and assistants, and certainly knowledge of what dentists and oral hygienists, for example, may need. Therefore the person in charge of ordering the dental products supplies, whether that is the dentist or an office manager, should always make sure they never run out of stock: You cannot have a person sitting in a chair for root canal treatment or other procedures and not have all the tools and accessories you need to perform a proper procedure – you need to be always prepared and ready with everything you need. Therefore you need to keep track of what supplies you are short of and consider the best options to replenish what you may have run out of – and how to acquire such. The person in charge of ordering (the dentist or a dedicated staff member) has to look at the most practical, cost-effective ways to replenish when necessary and consider new options. Good dental practices offer a range of professional services right from routine checkups to all the different treatments such as oral hygiene, root canal treatment, dental bridges, extractions, and more – also specialist services such as offering patients the services of an orthodontist or other professional. These professionals offer those services that ensure patients’ teeth are in good condition, and very often to ensure they can smile once more – and show off beautiful pearly white teeth. As we age, our teeth often become discolored and stained by cigarette smoke and the food and drinks that pass our lips – and over our teeth. Therefore teeth whitening and other dental cosmetic procedures become necessary. There are different products on the market to help combat the worst effects of teeth that have lost their natural color and shine. Some can be bought over the counter at your supermarket, while other teeth whitening products are specifically prepared as a bespoke service for patients by their dentists or beauticians with the credentials to prepare and administer such teeth whitening gels and similar products. So where do these teeth whitening materials come from, as they are not necessarily manufactured in the dental practice? The answer is: They are ordered from manufacturers that ship them to the dentist. Therefore the office manager or dentist needs to know what and where the sources are and what to order from them – at the most cost-effective price. The same is true for the owner of a retail store that sells whitening gels and special toothpaste made from formulas that contain special ingredients that help keep teeth white and your smile beautiful.

  2. Toothpaste and whitening gels and bleaches are manufactured by specialist services that then ship them to the dentist where the patient is treated by administering such to their teeth. The same is true for the customer that buys teeth whitening products from a retailer. The company that prepares and manufactures these products will then ship them to their client, i.e. the dentist or retailer – and often as part of a private label service, meaning they manufacture, pack and ship to the dentist or shop, not under their name (the manufacturer’s) but under the name of the dentist or the brand of the retailer. This is truly beneficial for the client: They hardly lift a finger and yet receive a product under their name and logo for the end customer’s use. This is why the office manager/dentist needs to know who the best sources for these dental products are and to, preferably, deal with a private label services provider, as they take care of it all - right from formulations and designs to packaging and shipment and delivery.
